With the festive party season upon us, there are an endless list of party invites all in need of a glamorous outfit. While trying to juggle shopping, wrapping and entertaining family there just isn’t enough time to plan for those perfect festive looks.
So, for our Christmas gift to you, we have pulled together 8 of our favourite festive looks. From classic and casual to Hollywood glamour we’ve got everything you’ll need to take your wardrobe into the new year. And have you ending 2019 on a style high.
Look 1 – Casual Chic
If you are in need of a casual style for those down days in between then this, relaxed style from Ralston has got effortless chic covered. The Ralston Alec wide fit top comes in a beautiful deep purple and is embroidered with a unique scribble pattern. The oversized fit cropped length and dropped shoulder combine to create a sophisticated yet comfortable style. The quirky design and contemporary silhouette make for an effortlessly chic look.
For those of you who will be slaving away in the kitchen this 25th, we think this contemporary chic style is perfect. It’s comfortable, practical and ultimately will keep you looking fabulous no matter what happens in the kitchen.
Look 2 – Red Velvet Update
Red remains the signature colour of the festive season, but those looking for something a little different we love this revamped look from Out of Xile. Taking some style tips from the classic Christmas red velvet style, this printed midi dress offers an update on the traditional.
From the Out of Xile Butterfly Collection comes this abstract printed velvet midi dress. Made up from a deep red background this unusual butterfly print is accented by golds, deep greens and off whites. Bringing all the seasonal classics together in one. With a long line loose-fitting silhouette, this dress is both comfortable and flattering. And detailed with the all-important and practical side pockets. This beautiful print combined with the fabulous velvet fabric makes this dress ooze luxury and glamour.
Even if you aren’t venturing far from home this Christmas, everyone likes to feel special, so why not gift yourself a little piece of luxury. Who said the Christmas dinner had to be the star of the show?
Look 3 – The Power Suit
Taking centre stage this winter season has to be the power suit, and this year it’s not the famous red one. The return of the power suit has been all over 2019 and this revamped classic doesn’t look to be going anywhere this New Year. If you’re looking for a striking style to bring in the bells or to add some glamour tonight with girls, this Soaked in Luxury two-piece suit is the perfect statement style. Step away from the traditional glitter and golds and dare to go bold in this statement bright pink suit. This Soaked in Luxury combo is so versatile, the styling options are endless. Dressed up or down this style is great for both work and play.
Style Tip: With a trouser and blazer duo like this you don’t really need anything else. So, we’d pair simply with a pair of black heels and a long pendant necklace, to create a modern and elegant look. Or if you’re looking to dress up a casual Boxing day lunch, layer the blazer over a black polo neck and style with a pair of chunky black boots.
Look 4 – All that glitters
Now no festive season would be complete without a little glitz and glamour. And in our opinion, this silver and soft gold wrap dress from Joseph Ribkoff, is all you need to add a little sparkle to those dark winter nights. This wrap style, metallic midi dress from Joseph Ribkoff is one of our favourite styles this season. The beautiful metallic sheen created by the blend of silvers and soft golds; is all the sparkle factor you could want this Christmas. Paired with full-length sleeves this midi-length dress falls just below the knee, for a classy and elegant style. The soft ruching detail on the side of the waist creates the most ultra-flattering shape and makes this style perfect for everyone.
Style Tip: For a truly glamourous festive style we’d suggest pairing with a faux fur coat and a pair of Envy gold and beaded drop earrings. However, this style would look just as good paired with black tights and a leather jacket. No matter what the occasion you’ve got to let yourself shine every now and then.
Look 5 – Black is back
Black at Christmas is not a revolutionary fashion statement, but when done right an LBD (little black dress) is timelessly hard to beat. This classic, sleeveless, velvet dress from Joseph Ribkoff is the LBD your winter wardrobe has been searching for. Even if you’re not normally one for sequins and glitter, this style could be perfect for you. Accented with a subtle sprinkling of sparkle through the classic black velvet fabric. I mean if you can’t add a little sparkle into your festive wardrobe, then when can you. With a fabulous ruching detail falling into a large tiered frill, this style is ultra-flattering for all figures. Dressed up or paired down this LBD has that Christmas sparkle factor covered.
Style Tip: Go Audrey Hepburn classic and pair with a simple black heel and clutch.
If you can’t go all out Hollywood Glamour at New Year’s Eve, then, when can you? If you have something special planned to ring in the bells, we would suggest this beautiful Joseph Ribkoff full-length dress. This full length, three quarter length sleeve dress, creates a figure-hugging look. Falling to the floor with a slightly flared hem, this dress oozes red carpet beauty. Detailed with a modern structure of sequin, sheer and solid black stripes. The rose gold sequins metallic sheen contrasts perfectly with the panels of black.
One of our favourite styles this season. So beautiful you’ll find an excuse to wear it everywhere. It might turn a few heads doing the weekly shop but who cares, start your year off right…looking fabulous.
Look 7 – The all in one
Let’s be honest the winter weather doesn’t always make a dress and heels the most practical of choices. So, in those cases of true hurricane fashion, let the jumpsuit step in. This fabulous printed jumpsuit from Joseph Ribkoff is a real statement piece for the party season! Made from full-length sleeves and flared pants, this jumpsuit is both comfortable and figure-flattering. It feels amazing to wear and is a strong favourite amongst all of the Colmers Hill team.
Comfortable, flattering and stylish. What more could you ask for this Christmas?
Look 8 – The Classic Cover
Nobody likes to cover their fabulous festive style with a jacket or jumper, so why not make your coverup the focus of your outfit. From the office party to festive drinks this cover-up from Joseph Ribkoff has got you looking festively stylish.
A classic cover-up to add a timeless statement to your winter wardrobe. The silhouette gives a more relaxed take on the traditional blazer. The full-length sleeves and longline style is perfect for adding cover whilst flattering to all figures. What’s special about this piece is the elegant touches. Detailed with contrasting panels of sheer and stripes of sparkle, around the flared sleeves and hemline.
Style Tip: Let this fabulous cover up make the statement and pair simply with a pair of leather-look leggings and minimal accessories for a classic sophisticated style.
